Thomas L. Hoover, of Chesterfield, Missouri, passed away quietly in his home on August 4, 2012, surrounded by family and friends after following a 10 month battle with pancreatic cancer.

Thomas was born in Warsaw, Indiana to Robert T and Jean (nee: Thompson) Hoover on May 20, 1939. Tom was preceded in death by both his parents and his step-mother Eleanor (nee: Hershberger) Hoover. He is survived by his wife Becky (nee: Schultz) Hoover, his daughter Kelly (A.J.) Alaboudi, brother Greg (Jenny) Hoover, niece Alexandra Hoover, nephew Dane Hoover, niece Stephanie (Robert) Swearengin, niece Lauren Underwood, niece Jenni Schultz. He is also survived by his father-in-law John Schultz and dear friend Pam Carter, sister-in-law Debbie Underwood, and brother-in-law Doug Schultz. Tom will also be missed by his best friend Dave Wilson and boot camp comrade and best friend Carl Fismer.

Raised in Northern Indiana, Tom was an Indiana all-state basketball player and graduated from Mentone High School, then continued his education at Purdue University with a basketball scholarship. After attending the university, Tom joined the United States Army where he achieved the rank of Corporal and was a jumpmaster as an enlisted paratrooper in the United States Army's 82nd Airborne Division. Once he completed his service in the Military, Tom returned to St. Louis and became the President and owner of ABC Moving and Storage, an Atlas Van Lines agent (since 1972), and also served as a Director on the Atlas World Group Board from 1988-2010.

An avid golfer, Tom was a match play champion for the Gateway (Missouri) Section of the GPA in 1987, and won numerous tournaments as a member of the Boone Valley Golf Club in Augusta, Missouri. He also had many long-time friendships from his time as a member of both The Country Club at the Legends in Eureka and Norwood Hills Country Club in Normandy. Tom and his wife Becky, the love of his life, also enjoyed spending time at their home in Bonita Bay, Florida.
