Taylor, Rev. Raymond Gary, of Jefferson City, Missouri, formerly of O'Fallon, died on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at the age of 70. Loving husband of Cindy Taylor NEE: Johns; beloved son of the late Raymond J. and Laura Taylor; devoted father of Gary (Beth) Taylor, Mark (Cora) Taylor, Deborah (Nathan) Shinkle, Drew (Amanda) Snyder and Joel (Jan) Snyder; cherished grandfather of Jack, Calleigh, Isak, Remy, Elaine, Nelson, Nolan and Arabella; loving brother of Barbara (David) Smith and Karla (Mike) Taylor- McNamee; dear uncle of Laura, Andrew, Grace, and Elliott. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Taylor.
Rev. Gary served as pastor at Dresden Baptist Church in Dresden, MO from approximately 1963 to 1967, Lamonte First Baptist Church in Lamonte, MO from approximately 1967 to 1970 and Rock Hill Baptist Church in Rock Hill, MO from 1970 to 1979. He then served at Dalewood Baptist Church in Nashville, TN from 1979 to 1982 and later returned to the area and served as pastor at Tower Grove Baptist Church in St. Louis, MO from 1982 to 1989, then First Baptist Church of O'Fallon in O'Fallon, MO from 1989 to 2007. Rev. Gary was currently serving as the Director of Evangelism at the Missouri Baptist Convention in Jefferson City, MO since 2007.
The Missouri Baptist Convention has established the R. Gary Taylor Memorial Fund for Evangelism. Donations should be addressed to the R. Gary Taylor Memorial Fund for Evangelism, Missouri Baptist Convention, 400 E. High St., Jefferson City, MO 65101.
