I was so pleased that after several years of not wanting to go on the retreat, she finally decided to come. She was such an asset and inspiration.
She was a wonderful lady and she will be missed.

Aunt Joan got out many of her scrapbooks to show us her beloved photos of her children & grandchildren. It was great fun sharing in that family time. I watched Joan from across the room. She seemed so at peace. I had no idea she had cancer. She's in God's hands now. What an awesome place to be.

I was on retreat with Joan in April 2012. We first met on the drive to Pallottine from St. Pats and from then on we all knew what a special lady we had with us for the weekend. She was truly an inspiration and she will be missed. BELIEVE IN HIS LOVE RECEIVE HIS PEACE

To the family and friends left behind...I met "Aunt" Joannie only a few times, but my memories are one of laughter and kindness. We were introduced at a family party at Melinda and Tom's and she made me feel instantly welcome and was generally interested in getting to know me and share her many stories with me. She will be missed in our hearts and I will keep her smile safely tucked away.

I met Joan at our church ACTS retreat last Spring. She was a serene sweet lady. Though she was dealing wih cancer she had a calm manner. I feel blessed to have met her for that short time. Your family is in my prayers.

My Granny was a GREAT grandmother. As a child I don't think I appreciated all the grandmotherly things that she did but as an adult I have had the opportunity to look back at those years and wish that as a child I could have understood a little bit more. Her and my PawPaw made an attempt to attend every soccer, basketball, volleyball, or whatever sport you decided to try and they sat there with our parents cheering on us

They always had some encouraging word after the game and always told you they loved you. I remember my Granny took me to watch some girls play volleyball because she knew I loved the sport so much.....that was a great day! She remembered every birthday and made it to every graduation and every school event especially Grandparents Day. I loved the days that her and PawPaw would stop by my work for a little chat.....it often made my day. She loved her family very much and tried to show us that as often as she could. She believed in every one of her grandchildren and was so very proud of each of us and the people that we had become. The littlest things like me giving her a new picture of her great granddaughter made her so happy. I have alot of great memories of my Granny and I will treasure them forever. I know she is at peace now watching down on us from Heaven with my Aunt Lee. We will miss you Granny and I hope you know how much we loved you!

With deepest sympathy for Joanie's entire family from a former neighbor on Riverview Lane. Her family had a profound mark on our entire family, especially Lee's and Mim's friendship.
