My grandmother Ellen always tells me stories about when you guys were kids running around at the plantation and I loved hearing them growing up. You will live on when I share these stories to my daughter. Rest in Peace Great Uncle George.

I met George when I first moved to Hilo, Hawaii in 1996. My family were the managers of Hakalau Plantation, George Ross (my great grandfather) first & later John Monroe Ross (my great uncle). I would stop by the book store & he would tell me stories of the old plantation days. He was family to me & was totally supportive, I could only love him. I was so sad when he moved away, he was an exceptionally good man!

George was a kind, gentle man. He had a very quiet way about him, very approachable, you could tell that God was working through him. All last summer when my mother, Bernice, was in the hospital, George continued to water her plants at the porch adjacent to his. He kept those plants blooming better than my mom ever did. He was always concerned about others. I always felt a calm around him. He was a great man and my prayers

I am a server at Park Place, George was the sweetest man I have ever met. He was always so encouraging, and always had a smile on his face, He would go out of his way to come and and talk with me. I will miss him so much. Thanks for putting a smile on my face.. Rest in peace!

They trick or treated at georges in October and spent time dining with george at dorothy's open house at christmas at special invitation from the kids. I will remember his kindness to us and the kids, the sparkle in his eyes whenever you talked with him, and his gentleman ways of thanking you for your time when I so appreciated his. My brother who we lost 17 years ago also worked for McDonnell Douglas. Our thoughts and prayers go to his family. Thanks for sharing this wonderful man with us. We appreciated him taking time with us and the kids.

His constant smile and vast biblical knowledge blessed and encouraged us more than he knew or his humility would let him admit. He was always willing to teach and help in any way that we needed.
