Carla L. Herter

First words I heard from Carla, "hey neighbor, come on over". I did and so started a friendship spanning 24 years with a caring, wise and funny lady we treasured then and now. Monster plant on the porch, laughing at Jackson, always had a spare in her purse, she was awesome. Will always remember her and her laugh with so much love.

To Carla's family,
I hadn't seen Carla since high school. She was a very nice person to me then and I'm sure she remained that way through out her life. My sincere condolences to your entire family.

I haven't seen Carla in years, but I do see Ruth now and then. I went to grade school with Carla at Trinity Lutheran School in Orchard Farm, Missouri. Her sister, Betty, was in my class and I visited Betty at their farm many, many times. I especially remember the day that Carla pierced Ruth's ears. At the time it seemed barbaric to me!!!! I'll never forget the time when we spent all day together, and later that night my parents were coming to the house you lived in now. I was so proud of myself for being able to tell them the directions on how to get there by heart. We'll miss you so very much. We love you.

Even though it was a messy day of weather, we made the most of it, and actually had fun! Carla's sense of humor and laugh was contagious that day.
