Bacon, Burnette "Bert", of St. Peters, Missouri, died on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at the age of 90. Loving husband of Patsy Bacon; beloved son of the late Elzie and Ann Bacon; devoted father of Jody (Jeff) Blanton, Janet Bacon and Timothy Bacon; cherished grandfather of Lindsay Engle, Megan (Tim) Scott, Kyle Engle, Shane Priebe, and Danny Bacon; special friend of the family Austin Cardwell.

Bert retired as a Claims Superintendant after almost 30 years of service with State Farm Insurance Company. He was a combat veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was awarded numerous decorations including the Combat Infantryman's Badge with Second Award, the Bronze Star medal with Oak Leaf Cluster and the Purple Heart. Bert was also a member of the 5th Regiment Combat Team Association, 24th Infantry Division Association, Alton Eagles #254, St. Charles VFW Post 2866, and Florissant Valley Memorial American Legion Post 444.
