Barbara Jeanne Hamaker Peters
She was called home by the Lord on February 10 - It shall be a joyous meeting. Dear daughter of Clifford and Hazel (Falls) Hamaker, Barbara leaves her husband of 58 years, Dr. George Peters and three children, Sally (John) Drennan, Jr. of St. Charles, Mo., Nancy (Jeff) Thater of Washington, Mo., Bruce Peters of Hazelwood, Mo., and three grandchildren; Jared and Alicia Thater of Washington, Mo., Shianne Peters of Cape Girardeau, Mo.
There are two sisters, Mrs. Jane (Richard) Kitt of St. Charles, Mo., Mrs. Linda (Otho) Reasoner, Jr. of Pottsville, Ark, and two sister-in-laws, Mrs. Donna (late Leroy) Rohrer of McHenry, Il., Mrs. Marlene Cross of Corona, Ca. Other relatives include Mrs. Patsy Barrett of Clarksville, Ark., Rev. Nale Falls of Little Rock, Ark., Mr. and Mrs. Bunn (Maxine) Falls of Little Rock, Ark., and Mrs. Betty Riddle of Moreno Valley, Ca.
Barbara loved meeting and mixing with people, as she was a gracious extrovert. A special love was reserved for youngsters; little wonder that she served as an educator for 30 years, 28 of them in the Hazelwood School District at Garrett
Elementary School, where she had a special format and engaging style; sharing her love of Science, along with her flair for story telling, enrapturing and enlightening many of her elementary students.
She will undoubtedly be missed by her extensive family, as well as friends.
Memorials may be made to Emmaus Homes or SSM Hospice.
