Donald Levi Lewis, of St. Charles, Missouri, formerly of Alton, Illinois, died on Friday, January 11, 2013 at the age of 77. Cherished husband of 52 years to Sally Lewis (nee: Richey) and father of David (Katherine) Lewis, Mark (Donna) Lewis, and adopted father of Daniel Layton. Son of the late Levi and Viola (nee: Allsman) Lewis. Beloved grandfather of Christopher, Matthew, Joshua, Elijah, Julia, and Nikki Lewis, and great-grandfather of Nevaeh, Lucy, and Amelia Lewis. Brother of Darlene (Johnny) Giesen, Jack Lewis, Barbara Binning, Brenda (Ralph) Calame, the late Carolyn Anderson and the late Allen Lewis.

Donald was a member of the United Stated Air Force 1956-1960 and retired from Bodine Aluminum in 1996. Don attended St. Charles First Assembly of God for 36 years before that he attended Glad Tidings Assembly in Vinita Park, Missouri where he was also a Royal Ranger Leader and Sunday School Teacher.

Condolence & Memory Journal

I have very fond memories of Bro. Lewis. He was so kind to everyone, young or old he loved us all. I remember his family coming over for dinners with my family, they were always filled with lots of laughs. I remember going to church at Glad Tidings as a child and every time he saw me he would say hi and tell me how pretty I was. That always made me feel so good. He had a smile that would light up the biggest room!!

Uncle Don Loved to aggravate all of his Niece's and Nephew's. When I was young one of the many things he did was to pretend He took my nose off and ate it. He was very convincing to me as a young child and he would really play it up. I was told a story of how he was on a bus and forted. He quickly looked scornfully at another passenger and backed away from them. He was definitely a jokester. I loved Uncle Don and will miss him. He was always so glad to see his Family and showed it. I remember from Uncle Don and Aunt Sally is the Love they shared with me.
