Crit: The last time we talked, you said "When are we going fishing?" We have had such good times fishing and hunting together. I'm going to miss my hunting and fishing partner. So now, when I go fishing, and I feel a gentle breeze across my cheek, I'll look around and imagine you are there with me, and I know you will be. I love you Crit. Dad.

The Lord is our salvation and our strength in every fight, our redeemer and protector, our eternal guiding light. He has promised to sustain us, He's our refuge from all harms, and underneath this refuge are the everlasting arms.

Debbie, Amanda(s), Christina, Jessica: My connection is my BFF Debbie. We worked together at United and have remained best friends for ten years and more. We have shared happy times and sad times but we have always supported each other.
Ray was always at Debbie's house on weekends with the granddaughters. Ray had such a sense of humor.
Whenever I went to Debbie's house or on the phone, Ray would greet me with Baaaaarb and I would answer Raaaaay.
These are treasured memories to never forget and it will give us strength and comfort. Just stop and think about how many lives that Ray deeply touched in person and online. Awesome Ray!
My deepest sympathy, Love you, BFF Barb Infantino

You will truly be missed, I know three little girls that have to learn to live their life without their daddy and papa, oh and two hampsters as well. You were a great man to many of us. I know you are in a better place and you are having a ball with our little Cassie, you better have told her how much I love and miss her!!! I know that your body ailments don't mean a thing and you are pain free and smiling from ear to ear, like you did when you heard a good joke or played with the grandbabies. We have your pictures to remind us, recordings of your voice to keep us, and all of our memories to maintain us until we meet again. To my sweet Critter!!!

I have known Ray Jr. only meeting him on a few occasions. I attend the New Creation Fellowship Church in Granity City, IL with his dad Ray Cheatham. Last time I saw Ray Jr. was at a lunch at Denny's in Pontoon Beach. In learning of his sickness, pain and need for work, I have prayed so many times for him. I am sorry for the lost to all his loved ones. I will be continuing to pray for the family in their times of sorrow. I pray that God will comfort all of you during this time.

Like some of the others here, I only knew Critter online. He had such a keen wit, a good heart, and was always up for a good discussion, a game, or a word of support. We will all miss him.

I spoke with him on the forum, he was one of the forum regulars. I did not know him personally. But it grieves me that a fellow Dad, husband and gamer has passed away. I wish him god speed and may our Lord Christ be with him and his family. May God our Savior bless you all and the little one's.

I didn't know him well but knew of him on matrix Games and The Wargamer forums and read his posts with interest.

He was a fellow wargaming enthusiast and that along with his humour came across in his posts.

I wish his family well through this difficult time and hope he finds peace and solice wherever he may be.

From all of your fellow gamers, your wit and wisdom will be missed. You were an important part of our vast community, and we are all mourning the loss. To the family, you may not realize the size of the shadow Ray cast, but his loss has been literally discussed around the world. Our prayers and condolences go out to all of you.

A fellow wargamer and military enthusiastic from The Matrix forums "Wodin" sends his deepest sympathy. Not sure we ever spoke as such but I know you'll be greatly missed.

Rest In Peace Critter

I never met Roy in real life, but we had our conversations about games many times. It's been a real shock to hear Roy passed away so suddenly and many years too early. Most of us at the Matrixgames.com forum feel saddened by this news. I know I will miss helping you out with the finesses of the games we both loved playing.
My condolences to the family,
God bless you Roy,
Josh

Ray was so proud of his daughters and step daughter. He was so over joyed every time we got Christina and Jessica. His face just lit up when he saw them. Always ready to tell a joke or story. It was never dull when he was around. I love you and miss you!

Life Stories

i remember riding in his grey buick with the radio turned all the way up with cassie and dad with acdc big ball. you would get in a car and i guess your body stayed with the motion of the air ride or something cause you always had a bobble head effect going on. you did always have a way to make me smile. recently in 2003 when we lost cassie couple months later you told me i was your rock and that i helped you. you taught me to be strong like a rock i love you dad!

Just a little over thirty years ago I married my best friend. We met while working at Pizza Hut way back in another time. He was my friend and I grew to love him so much, we really grew up together. We had so many dreams, as young folks do. We saved and bought our first new car together, and that was tough when interest rates were 19% with good credit. We lived in a mobile home that we outgrew, when I had Amanda in 1985. So we moved back to our old stomping grounds in Bellefontaine Neighbors, where we purchased our first house! We were very proud, and very pregnant with our little Cassie. We had the world by the tail and didn't even realize it then. We had two beautiful little girls, one that looked like me and one that looked like daddy. We had good jobs and we were all healthy, you know when we age we look back on those simple things and remeber when!!!

Aunti Linda, such babies then... I'm so sorry for your loss. I think about you guys all the time. I love you and my heart is sad for you, Amanda and the girls. You're in my prayers! XOXO
